I just want to clarify by what I mean, I don’t mean to say that things will always get better, they could easily get worse (as a whole). But currently, things seem to be getting better.

As an example, one such place where progress has stalled or been rolled back in some countries is income/wealth inequality, which could be considered a form of metaphorical violence (English speaking countries as an example).

Where it has improved is in many of the South American Countries. Ideally, inequality should be a strain on mental health too.

Other roll backs would be the fact that there are now more refugees in the World than any time since the 2nd world war. But this is in keeping mind that world population is much larger than then. But the “Global War On Terror” has certainly had a major impact.

By the way, maybe military spending could be a factor influencing mental health. A lot of veterans have mental health issues like PTSD. How Common is PTSD in Veterans? - PTSD: National Center for PTSD according to this source about 15% of veterans have PTSD.

Increase in reports from 2019-2020 = 16%
