Will the alpha version be getting regular updates somehow while not on steam? Will this be able to be updated in-game or separately?

This thursday we are going to start pre-orders and alpha downloads here:

There will be regular updates, weekly at least, but you will need to reinstall the game by downloading an updated installer (its about 500MB) It will keep all your save games though. The game will automatically notify you when an update is available.

Is therd going to be limited availability? If so, do the US players have to compensate for the time difference to make sure we get in on it when you release it? If its limited and you release it at 8AM I got to get up at 3AM my time and I will be missing beauty sleep lol
