Assemblers + in-factory machining of items

I’ve been trying to set up a factory on my game where I’m trying to buy as little amount of materials as possible (i.e. make everything I can), the one issue I kept having was that as I was placing down the production line for the items (for example the hoods), I was having issues with making sure that the input part of the assembler (the raw metal in this case) was on the same side as the rest of the machines I had in the area (which was then feeding into a storage stockpile).

Would it be possible to tweek the layout marker for the builder so that you can clearly see which square is the input part? Along with the output blocks for the various in-house production bits?
