This is one dilemma where I would like a 3rd option. It mentions both medical science and the cosmetics industry experimenting on animals. Testing on animals for the sake of medical science is something I can tolerate, tests including chemical burns and such because people want to be pretty is something I can’t really condone.

Apparently after more than a year I had forgotten that I had made this post, and was about to write this one up again. Good thing for that side window which suggests already existing posts.
Again, the acceptability of inflicting suffering on animals in order to prevent human suffering and inflicting suffering on animals because people want to be pretty are very different questions.
