BETA 1.21 Failed to initialize 3d engine:..\src\game.ccp 448

Whenever I attempt to launch the game, I get this error, then it crashes. I am, unfortunately, running this off of a netbook. with a native resolution of 1024x600, I have changed the resolution manually, (in the pref.ini) & have also enabled windowed mode, in addition to deleting the folder located at mydocument\mygames\gratuitous space battles 2, & uninstalling & re-installing the game, as well as simply deleting the folder & letting the game recreate it. I cannot seem to find the problem, I have installed directx9, from the included installer. I am VERY frustrated, as I would LOVE to play this game.

SYSTEM SPECS:
Intel ATOM n2600 (hd3600 graphics)
2gb ddr3 1066 soDimm
otherwise, standard Acer Aspire One.

I realize that this may have to do with my graphics driver. It is updated all the way. (support for the 3600 line stopped last year I believe) So it has the latest drivers that work for it.

I think you may be out of luck. The game simply cannot squeeze the GUI into a screen res of lower height than 768. Is this your only PC?
