The speeches don’t actually impact opinion. They say they do in the speech interface but when you click on each voter group afterwards, the speeches don’t show on the list.

Hi, are you sure? I just tested a few games to make sure and I got the effects the minute the speech animation ended and I checked those groups:
The actual calculation will not take effect until the next turn though.

I also tested this and found the same thing Cliff has.
