I am experiencing a frustrating issue with two of my favorite games, Gratuitous Space Battles (GSB1) and Gratuitous Space Battles 2 (GSB2).
The problem is that when I try to play the Campaign mode, the game displays an error indicating that my key is incorrect or invalid (or that it cannot be validated). Since the Campaign is the main feature I enjoy, this is preventing me from playing the game as intended.
It appears the games might no longer have server support for key validation for the Campaign mode.
I tried to find information on the forums but encountered a few difficulties:
- The link to the forums from the official GSB website (https://www.gratuitousspacebattles.com/) seems to be broken.
- I managed to find a link to a Positech forum (via http://www.positech.co.uk/), but the dedicated Gratuitous Space Battles section is set to read-only, meaning I cannot post my issue there.
This channel is the only place I have found where I can contact the team. My question to the Administration/Development team is this:
Is there any possibility of unlocking the Campaign mode in GSB I and II, or recovering the online functionality, perhaps by releasing the online server component (server emulation) for community hosting?
