Can't get through the first battle (CTD)

Like the topic says, I’ve yet to get through the first battle. At first I couldn’t get to the battle - it would crash when I tried to start it - but going windowed mode fixed that. My first in-battle crash was exactly the moment I got told that I had destroyed my first Cruiser. Since then it always crashes some way into the battle. I expected bugs, but it would be nice to be able to get through even one battle, so that I can spot any =P

Errors.txt remains completely empty, and all the crash messages are the standard Windows ones.

My specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 6000+
3GB RAM
GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
Windows XP

Try moving the “Master Volume” slider in the options all the way to the left. This shuts off the sound processes and should allow you to complete the mission without crashing. Sucks playing without audio, but not as bad as not playing at all…

You’re right… turning off sound did stop it from crashing…

This crash has to do with FMOD, a 3rd party sound engine. Cliffski is working on getting it hammered out.
