ok, i’ll try and post again as forum dumped my last attempt,
i bought kudos 2 today, and it does’nt work. i start the game up, get the menu screen, but when i start a game, screen goes black wgile music plays in the background…
I’m running win7 64bit, phenomx4 965, ati radeon 5750. all drivers are up to date. any help?

as an update, i tried to load up democracy 2 today, and i get the same thing, menu loads up, allows entry and exit of settings/options (most of the time), but when click on tutorial or new game, screen goes black with the music playing… funny thing is, i played democracy 2 without an issue a month or so ago, after i got my new pc(this one)
I’ve tried messing with compatability settings and i get ‘D3Dengineerror [setdisplaymode]’ (when i try starting in 640x480 mode in compatability options)
conclusion must be that something has changed in the past month or so, probably with a windows update… any ideas? I have been trawling the forum since yesterday, and a number of similar issue remain unanswered… can someone not put a sticky in the forum to make it easier to find what seems to be a common problem?
I will have to reconsider purchasing any more games from positech if i cannot get them to work…

…whats FMOD?

I’ve not seen this error before, so I can only guess as to a solution. From my understanding FMOD is an audio toolkit for programmers. I’m not sure why you, as the end user, would need to install anything to do with it, but perhaps downloading the latest stable release from the FMOD site would work?

I think the problem with running in compat. mode at 640x480 is the resolution is too low. As I understand the game runs at a set resolution and forcing it smaller isn’t supported.

thanks for the help, did’nt work though…
democracy did work a month or so ago, but now kudos 2 and democracy 2 have the same fault (i bought kudos 2 yesterday)… i don’t know what has changed with my pc, i keep all drivers up to date, i did recently flash my bios for up to date bios, but… i should’nt think that would cause the problem…
planetry defense bizarrely works ok- got it with kudos 2… i’m scratching my head, so anymore suggestions would be much appreciated… thanks 
… well, I’m out of ideas. If you have Windows 7 professional it MIGHT let it run through XP mode, but I’m just clutching at straws here. Best to message cliffski himself and see if he has any suggestions. Nothing a good format wouldn’t fix

Ack…I thought it was working, until I clicked the down arrow on my players attributes and the game locked up.
