Hybrid cars initiative, electric cars initiative and ban low MPG cars all decrease oil demand directly, and increase electric car transition, which decreases oil demand. It is also odd that Ban low MPG vehicles does drive electric car transition, but fuel efficiency standards does not.
I started checking because I found it is remarkably easy to have zero oil demand. Looking further, it is also odd that oil price still impacts motorist opinion and membership even when oil demand is zero
