I’ve hit a smallish sticky wicket tho… for some reason, My custom cruisers haven’t showed up since the last update. hey cliffski, did you change some snippit of code somewhere? (the things I’m using are literally carbon-copies of existing ships in places, with only the names changed.
(EDIT: I suppose I should clarify this point, they show in the design screen, but not in the deployment screen. so I’ve got a few dozen cruiser designs saved, but only frigates and fighters show up in the deployment screen.
This is the code for one of the ships, maybe someone here knows what I’m missing?

This is strange I copy/pasted the code it into my game and it deployed the ship (with one cew module) . . .
Question: Do other cruisers appear but not the Jaguar ? . . are you playing a mission where you can only use frigates and fighters ?

Most peculiar problem . . I will keep thinking

goto your my docs/my games/GratuitousSpaceBattles/debug file and look in the files there for the ships, you may have loaded it with moduals that have been changed making them invalid and then game ignores them. I thin kthat is the main problem you are having as i was able to pull some of them up in the ship design area, but not in the deploment area. So go back and take a look at what you have on them.

Ship config files are located in the my docs/my games/GratuitousSpaceBattles/ships folder.

It’s just an up-gunned buffalo, made with the ingame editor. other than the name and the slots, I’ve changed nothing.
(It may be from experiments with the data folder, does anyone know where I can get a clean one? My backup is from the previous patch.)
I just tested something, none of the cruiser hulls work. not one. frigates and fighters are fine, It’s just the cruisers. this is very odd.

Sorry, i still cant put my finger on it. The only thing i can suggest is a reinstall.

Go to your GSB directory and rename it to “GSB Corrupt” then reinstall and patch to the latest version.
Then its a matter of moving the files from the “GSB Corrupt” to the new version.

(I have done this too many times, in the end I zipped up the fresh install and use when required)

Please note, if this does not work, then the error will be somewhere in “My Documents\My Games\GratuitousSpaceBattles”

I got it through steam, and something is obviously buggered. I’ve attempted uninstall, but it doesn’t do anything. (usually I don’t need to come here with this stuff, deleting a folder and verifying game cash fixes stuff in most cases, but it’s not working here, nor is Delete local content. I’m worried here…

Strange, i thought steam could let you uninstall / reinstall . .

Question - when you do go into battle, do the opposing forces get to use cruisers ?

I reinstalled and ya know what was wrong? the option to display cruisers in the deploy screen was unchecked.
