what determines event quality? I’ve noticed it’s neither happiness, energy, confidence, nor compatibility to interest, so is it random? same thing with friendship points; i’m not sure what determines that…
I was wondering the same thing too. I dumped my character’s boyfriend after one too many “disappointing” romantic movies and candlelit meals. Ahem. 
To host good quality events invite only friends who are interested in those events.
When you click on event option such as See A Movie a halo will appear around those friends who like that event.
Your mood can also help determine how successful.
Also some attributes help such as cooking for dinner parties.
Read the movie guide book to be able to pick good movies.
