Game extremely laggy

My game runs extraordinarily slow, particularly when opening GDP bubble. It freezes up when opening major bubbles and is unresponsive a lot.

I’ve updated my drivers to the latest version (I have Iris Xe Graphics) which improved the situation only slightly.

Game seems to use a lot of CPU bandwith to run.

I have similar issues after a few minutes of playtime. It varies in time, sometimes appearing after ten minutes, and other times almost an hour. It also gets really laggy when I try to open up a policy/situation/crisis from the security or summary screens.
