How to install Production line on Mac

Hey everyone in this easy post i will explain to you how to install the game on mac first a fea Q&A.

Q: Can i install it without other programs?
A: No you have to go to the winebottler.kronenberg.org/, And download WineBottler. I can not upload the game without permission of the Positech Games. Therefore we do it this way.

Q: Is it difficult to install the game this way?
A: No not at all, only takes 5 to 6 minutes.

So let us start step by step:

1: Go to the winebottler.kronenberg.org/ and download it. (Note that you might have to go into the systemoptions and change the general setting of allowing programs to install or run from unknown developers)

2: download the Productionline.EXE file.

3: Now Just put the Productionline.EXE on the desktop so you know where it is, and then click on it. You will then get an options to run the program, Run directly or compile into an simple OSX program. Now just click on Compile to an OSX program as the attachment shows.

4: Now you will get into a few options, look at the picture attached and set the same options/settings and then press install.

5: You are now good to go and it should finish itself. Note that if you are finished installing and it ask you to start game then yes do it. then let it go for 1 minute, Then forcequit it in case it is not showing anything. do not force anything else to quit except the game and it is named “Wine”

6: Enjoy production line on the Mac and have fun.

Best regards from Norway, Oliver

Thanks from a newbie for a healthy information

The only issue I can foresee with this Is, because this is a non-standard install of the game on an unsupported platform, Cliffski (the man behind Positech Games) will probably not be able to provide support should anything go wrong that is related to being installed in this way. Follow the instructions at your own risk…

I mentioned in a comment on Cliffs blog that I’m currently playing Production line on the Mac quite happily. And it’s an old, 2010 model with the game appearing to run absolutely fine.

If you’re a Parallels user already then you’ll find that the game installs normally in your windows installation and you can run it from there.

Cliff hasn’t actually said if he’s going to do a Mac port, as I seem to recall he’s not to impressed with the sales compared to Windows, but I’m sure he’ll clarify when he reads this.

I know that there will be problems with updates and such in the start and you have to update the game manually and install it over again. But for now i just wanted to put it out for the mac users how they could play the game if they want to without buying a windows.

Was giving this a look and I see my WineBottler options looks very different from yours. Are you using a old version?
