I can´t download/fight at Chalenges!

hello.

I have had Gratuitous Space battes for a few months, but yesterday, 11/05, I decided to buy the expansion packs.

I bought everything directly form the Gratuitouspacebattles website, and installed. the game.

However, every single challenge I try to download/fight, the game says that the challenge poster has content that I do not have, and when I click the Button “get content” (I wanted to discover what is wrong: after all, I bough all the expansions), the webpage that opens says that it can´t detect what is the content I do not have.

"Sorry! We cannot find details on the content that is missing for you to play that challenge. It’s very likely this content has been modded into the game (it’s easy!) and you should check out the modding forum to see if there are people discussing that content there. Happy Fighting! "

That is the message. This happens even when I try to challenge someone who used the 4 vanilla races.

I unistalled/reinstalled the game and the expansions several times, and in the last one, I deleted every last game file, (including saved game and profile, ship schematics, etc. ;_;).

Nothing. The game simply does not let me fight any chalenges.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

edit: uploaded the debugdata/ errors file. Perhaps it can help.

edit2: extension txt is not allowed. Ouch.

just copy and paste it.

OK, here goes the Erros file.

Does that make any sense?

well, it’s obvious that only the final error is the problem.

it’s probably the expansion packs. if the challenges worked before, then that’s the problem. people usually check that they’re using the expansion packs even if no expansion ships are in the challenge. however, more to the point, copy and paste all the contents in gsb_base.pkg, gsb_order.pkg, gsb_swarm.pkg, and gsb_tribe.pkg in the reply to this message. that will help me (and other people) know what exactly. if all is well with those files, don’t worry, I have another idea.

What program should I use in order to open those files, so I can copy and paste their contents?

or should I upload the files themselves?

any simple text editing software. copy and paste.

here they come:

gsb_base

[config]
name = gsb_order
uiname = “Order Expansion Pack”

[config]
name = gsb_swarm
uiname = “Swarm Expansion Pack”

[config]
name = gsb_tribe
uiname = “Tribe Expansion Pack”

I opened the files with the Notepad.

THAT’S IT! IT’S THE BASE! Your gsb_base.pkg contents should be like this:

[config]
name = gsb_base
uiname = “Core GSB Game”

not just gsb_base. A lot of people had that problem before. See if it works now :wink:

I´ll check it out.

thanks for the help :smiley:

Edit:

it worked!!! thank you very much ^^

you’re welcome. a lot of people used to have that problem, but now it’s fixed :slight_smile:
