I modded GSB and now I get "ERROR - \src\SIM_"

Found another bug, when i try to initialise the game now i get an error saying:
“Unknown Slot Type for module:…\src\SIM_ShipModuleType.cpp 75”

, i tried reinstalling the game but it didn’t worked.
Oh if this helps, yes i did some soft-modding on modules(aka editing properties of hulls and modules) but i always had a backup file of the game, oh and the design i saved under that rule were deleted(all of then to make sure, also the deployment) but it still not working and the same error show up.

Heheh - welcome to the realm of Modding, stay awhile, Stay FOREVER !!! Muhahahah

You will need to look at the debug file to get an idea on what is tripping up the game.
(These files are in the same place you edited prefs.ini to change the resolution you will find the debug files - Have a look at debug.txt and errors.log)

If the error is not obvious, post them up here so the friendly community mod squad can look at them.
Once you get the game operating again i suggest you head over to the modding forum and have a read :slight_smile:

My Errors.txt has 638kb of words so i can’t post the whole file here, then here’s the last line:

It all started when i edited a rebel midgard to get 100% bonus on Hull integrity,Shield and power, then the game got too easy so i copied my backup over the modded frigate, and removed the “0” i added to the resistance of the superlight frigate shields :P.(tried to get empire race by winning a stage with a single frigate)
When tried to run the game again, i got this error, so the obvious came to mind, reinstall, i did, but didn’t worked so i deleted deployment *temp filese and designs to prevent the game running the modded frig save, but as you might guess from the previous post, no it didn’t worked.
There are other two files in debug folder, which are, respectively, debug.txt:

Although looking at the error code i wonder if you have altered any weapons ?

I edited Missile Frigate Launcher damage, reload rate, shield penetration and armor penetration, the NPC’s used that module too so i modded back as soon as my frigate got pwned, i think that the NPC designs are using that, and caused the error, but i reinstalled everything the NPC equips got resetted too and the game still don’t run.:\

i need help when i go to edit ships and when i change the hull i get ERROR Faild to find race:…\src\SIM_Race.cpp 130 is there a patch to this mod

Have you deleted all your ship designs manually ?
Uninstall / reinstall leaves behind user preferences.

The way i see it you have to options:
Sheerluck Holmes: Try and find out which module / ship is causing this. try deleting all your ship designs first (especially the ones with the modified frigate missile launcher) . . ship designs are found in the same area as prefs.ini

Scorched Earth: Delete GSB from both locations and reinstall (you might want to keep a copy of your pref.ini since you had that trouble with your screen res). . .

Hi Arrowhooks, welcome to the forums
Few questions to help us help you:

  • Which mod are your playing (if your playing more than one it might be an idea to deactivate them and find out which is causing the issue. To deactivate a mod you need to:
    A) delete/move all your ship designs for that mod
    B) Rename the modname.txt to modname.off

also rememeber when the error appears so if i appears when a ship gets hit or when it fires it might be a problem with sound or DDS files so keep that in mind it can help you alot

Just installed a bucnh of mods and my game is looking extremely awesome now.
