I’m having the same issue that I’ve recently noted with GSB.
I’m using a Windows 7 Machine, wherein I have the following situation:
My Documents on a remote shared drive (very very slow)
My Documents - local
Both programs (GSB and GTB) really want to use the shared My Docs directory for everything, which isn’t what I want. I can’t seem to find a way to tell it to use to local directory.
Hmmm interesting. I use windows own API for grabbing the location of MyDocuments, but it doesn’t offer you (AFAIK) any way to specify that you only want a local one. I wasn’t even aware that you could have two my documents libraries. Do other games seem to work out which one to use?
GSB and GTB are the only two that I’ve used on this machine.
I’ll do some further research via Microsoft and report back for others.
Thanks for the response - knowing to look specific into MS API helped!
For anyone else, Windows 7 doesn’t seem to recognize “forcing” a folder to default to something other than what it wants in this case.
I had to visit regedit and change the following keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders322756[/b]
From the original value to where I wanted it to save.
Completely - for both games!
