[Linux] Website/manual/etc. buttons don't work

All the buttons in the main menu meant to open an external application do not work. At a button press, the following is output:

Are you using the steam run-time? If so, this is most likely another bug caused by the steam runtime. The game simply runs xdg-open Democracy3.pdf and if the runtime is conflicting with older libs than your OS for certain things, then things won’t launch.
