[MOD] Empire dreadnought in service!

The sudden appearance of the Federation’s “Buffalo King” dreadnought on border patrol and in battle formations threw the naval planning staffs of other space powers into a near-panic.

The new dreadnought-type ship was obviously the product of a long and detailed analysis, and as such represented a triumph of naval architecture. It had little more internal volume than its predecessor cruiser, but was vastly superior from a qualitative standpoint.

Perhaps inevitably, the Empire was determined to be the first to respond. While others hestiate, the Empire ACTS.

Prideful snobs carrying forth traditions that were millenia old, the thought of an upstart gang of graceless capitalists doing anything better than the Empire, no matter how small - let alone building this treasure of a ship, with hundreds more rolling off of the construction docks! - was intolerable.

After a few sudden “retirements” and mysterious lethal accidents among the admirals of the Stellar Uber-Kommand, a course was decided upon. Funds were diverted from standard production, millions of man-hours of computer time were thrown into the mix, material and personnel were suddenly made available, and the final result soon took on physical reality:

The Empire’s “Centurion Lord” dreadnought.

Your monopoly on dreadnought combat power is now over, Federation slime. Thank you for showing us the way. The Centurion Lord even has an extra-large flag bridge…such a roomy space in which for us to accept your final surrender, and that of ALL who defy us!

After we have finished with the federation, we will polish off the damned Rebel scum which dares to trespass across our border. And after that, we have even BIGGER enemies to fight – but that tale must wait for another day…

Good job on these 3 dreadnoughts, I combined them into my mod. But we need to work on maybe 2-3 more ships for each race. I would prefer custom hulls, but we can do capital ship / dreadnought / frigate / whatever versions of the fighters. (It isn’t like anyone will notice. :smiley: )

Thanks for the compliment. Due to time-scarcity issues as well as some technical issues, my ability to work with dds files is sharply limited for the moment. I intend to fully customize my hull graphics at a later date. For now, I have no qualms about having them appear as enlarged versions of existing cruisers. It helps keep the visual relationship between the new dreadnoughts and the particular cruiser hulls that they are meant to be re-powered and over-gunned versions of. I enjoy that link.
