Just thinking - the description for the National Monorail System talks about the high cost and the construction time to get an eventually good payoff.

All’s well and good, and matches reality, however the modifiers have a longest inertia of 2 turns for Car Usage and an immediate boost to Commuters. Surely these should have a greater impact but with a longer time scale?

Also, why have “none” as a descriptor for the sliding scale but it still cost several billion? :slight_smile: Suggest for this one there could be things like “Planning” “Major City Links” “All Cities Linked” and “Every Town Linked” rather than none/low/medium etc…

I think a guy should be able to run it at a profit like the other national services

Adding to this, I would imagine that a nationwide monorail system would significantly reduce domestic air travel, since it’s fast, rarely delayed by weather, and avoids the hassle of the airport. The effect would probably be weaker in larger countries such as the US, where flying would maintain its speed-advantage on very-long distance trips.
