I played it on 100% difficulty, it was quite hard and I generally enjoyed it. It took quite long until I was able to bring the country into a high-productivity welfare state with the lowest taxes possible.
Although, while I understand Greece is notorious for its tax evasion, I think there really should be a way to reduce and eliminate the “Greek Tax Evasion” category. It’s quite hard to argue that it’s an essential feature in the nation’s economy, and it probably is a structural flaw more than anything. And therefore, like most structural flaws, it must be solvable.
A debt crisis in Democracy 2 wasn’t much of a problem for me. I play with my own views and in the game these mainly boost productivity or lower unemployment or increase GDP so with some tax hiking the problem would soon go away.
