[P.S.A.] Use the GSB_1_ "Modding 101" Guide *before* asking questions

To all GSB1 modders,
and especially to all our NEW or relatively new GSB1 modders,
as well as former modders returning after a long absence:

When you have a question about how to implement any particular feature of modding GSB1, your first step should ALWAYS be to consult the mighty >> GSB1 “Modding 101” Guide <<. The Guide can be found as a special “sticky” post at the very top of the Gratuitous Modding forum for GSB1.
.
.
.
The Problem –
Because the active member population for GSB1 modding is presently (July 20, 2021) so very small that it can be counted on the fingers of just ONE hand, it is ABSOLUTELY both faster and more practical for you to look for the answer yourself in the Guide, instead of creating a new thread to ask a question about your “How do I mod this?” subject.

We do not want numerous redundant one-post threads cluttering this forum. Over the last twelve years ( :astonished: !!!), the same modding questions have been asked over and over again in slightly different ways. In the present, there are now very, very few people here to accurately answer questions on a “one on one” basis, so always check the Guide BEFORE YOU POST ANY QUESTIONS. Members who refuse to do this should not expect to be treated with a large degree of sympathy.

IF, after reading the entire guide, you have still not found an answer to your modding question, THEN it’s okay for you to ask about it by creating a new thread.

The Solution –
If you post a GSB1 modding question without checking the Modding 101 Guide first for an answer, you might have to wait anywhere from a bare minimum of weeks to months (or sometimes “never”…) for a direct personal reply from anyone who knows the answer.

This is NOT social media. There are not millions of active members here every day of the year. No one is going to provide baby-sitting services to the entitled or under-motivated.

Therefore, it’s honestly in your own best interest to not be lazy about this, instead of posting questions before you’ve consulted anything in the Guide.

The Guide contains 12 pages of concentrated modding wisdom achieved by experienced GSB1 modders. Respected ultra-modder darkstar076 has generously collected that knowledge from hundreds of widely-scattered threads and posts, and re-organized it for the benefit of the community. Please use it.

A substantial number of the most commonly-asked questions have been answered, duplicated and moved into a special summary that’s packed into the very first few posts of Page 1 in the Guide.

Again:
IF, after reading the entire guide, you have still not found an answer to your modding question, THEN it’s okay for you to ask about it by creating a new thread.
