President Forever 2016 a game from tiny indie developer 270soft. They have a Kickstarter campaign running to be ported onto Mac OS X. At the moment it has just a little more than a day left and still needs a few hundred dollars to reach the funding goal.

President Forever 2016 is a political simulation game about the US presidential election. After choosing your candidate you set the themes of your campaign, produce ads, fight for endorsements, battle in debates and play through the party primaries to lock up your party’s nomination. After that it’s an all-or-nothing race for the presidency against the other parties. Yes, plural! There are more than the two big parties to be played. There’s the Libertarians, Greens and Bloomberg as an independent candidate too.

The game has some user interface issues and still needs a bit of polishing, but the developers are updating the game frequently and listen to community suggestions and wishes.

Backing the Kickstarter campaign will get you the game for either Windows or Mac for a discounted price, and on some backing levels even a discounted copy of the next game from 270soft “Congress Forever 2014”.
