Small (Gratuitously small) portraits somewhere numbering how many ships you have left, and prehaps average damage? Show it like the damage box in statistics, but for the average damage of the same type of ship. Prehaps you can have average damage of a selected group of ships too.
The only reason i want this is to better tell how fast fighters are going down. At the moment it can be quite hard to guage exactly how fast they are dying or even killing. Better feedback means better strategy!
