I am stupid.
I have been playing for a couple of weeks now and only just noticed that when you choose to socialize, your friends (and their friends) avitar lights up with a halo border for the activities they are interested in.
This way you can easily do things that all invited like.
The end result just depends mainly on your happiness and stress levels.
Additionally this helps with ‘people skills’.
Also -I read in the forum that watching political debates can help raise ‘reasoning’ - it works.
Still struggling to raise it to a higher level.
Working on bringing in higher IQ friends and less time with lower IQ friends.

Must be something special about British debates. Here in the USian Empire, watching two candidates use fear, innuendo, outright lies, and massaged statistics on each other just results in your brains dribbling out of your ears. 
I dunno, the UK can be like that too sometimes. I guess watching people argue will increase your reasoning skills, even if what they are arguing is total twaddle
