Switched to open source drivers, did not make a difference. Still, works ok on my laptop, ok for now.

Which Distribution and kernel-Version?

Arch, kernel 4.1, intel built in graphics

Is that the spec for the working Laptop or the non-working PC? If it is the PC, then that suggests that the issue can occur on non-Radeon cards.

Small update on this, I’ve poked Unity again. Will post more info when I have it.

I don’t think this could be a solution, because for every other game (i.e. Borderlands 2/pre-seqel, Ark) I have to play with the propritary Driver, install and reinstall every time I wanna play a another game is bullshit

You’re right, it’s hardly a solution. Unity said they are “in the process of looking into it” which probably means they haven’t touched it yet. Once again, thank you all for your patience. I am really sorry about this.

I’ve updated my proprietary drivers and it seems to have fixed the issue. No more crash when viewing the ingredients screen.

I also have got a reply from the Unity guys. Here it is in full:

This does confirm, as we suspected that the crash is occurring inside the Radeon driver. Given Jimmy’s last post, I’m wondering if AMD themselves have maybe caught wind of this issue and solved it in the latest driver update. If people could try the latest proprietary drivers and let me know if it solves the issue that would be great.

In the mean time I will send my project over to Unity so they can keep looking into it. I expect it’ll be several more weeks before any further progress is made so definitely try out the latest drivers to see if that fixes it.

I had this issue then disabled the steam overlay and it worked fine. Now if I go to the ingredients tab it crashes.

It turns out this issue is caused by buggy Radeon drivers. Have you got a Radeon card? If so, it’s incredibly likely that updating your drivers will solve the issue! :slight_smile:
