I mean, this game makes me hate capitalism more

That’s surprising, even with egalitarian capitalism?

Egalitarian capitalism?

Yeah, the kind that you can make in the game.

Hmm my opinions here upon looking at this game… when I tried to be intensively capitalist, bubble rent, class warfare and prices skyrocketed and I don’t quite like that because it makes me believe that those landlords are greedy and I kind of disagree with the free market at some points as I believe the government should interfere to make things better rather than waiting for a company to do it for you. Also this is a political topic so if you have different opinions then I don’t mind!

America here apparently have hospitals owned by companies and people need to pay countless of dollars, so I think the state should do it instead than plunging the citizens in even more debt.

Well, Capitalism is just property relations have to be private, you need not have 100% free-market capitalism for it to be capitalism. Anything short of socializing property relations and removing the wage and currency exchange system in the market would still count as capitalism, it would just be egalitarian, but still capitalism. Profit, commodification, etc. would still exist.

You can subsidize their private healthcare, so they don’t enter debt. Anyways, the state doing it just removes the commodification and profit making motive to some extent, it doesn’t make it socialist, just state capitalist. It’ll take some more tweaks to make it fully socialist or communist. The underlying economic relations have to be socialized/collectivized for it to be socialist.

Oh my, you’ve actually hit to the heart of my arguments

I didn’t know state capitalism was a thing.

Well, atleast according to some socialists. Socialists have many factions too.

Hmm, like you’ve argued in a post that China is turning capitalist, I’ve read that China is state capitalist but still communist.

Unless I’m confusing communism with a separate dictatorship regime

I don’t know how you can be state capitalist and communist at the same time, maybe you could be marxist, state capitalism was considered the final stage by marx and engels, so maybe they’re nominally communist?
