Occasionally I am given a ticket to a glamorous event. It seems to be linked to my kudos and possibly culture. Do you get invited to these only if you have
certain jobs?

The “industry_xyz” means you have to be part of that industry (e.g. industry_teaching means you need to be a teacher).
The number represents the value out of 100 for your character (e.g. Kudos,0.45 means a Kudos of at least 45).
The “xp_xyz” means you have to work in that industry, in a job that gives XP to that stat (e.g. xp_music is given by virtually every musical profession).
I have no idea what the event frequency is, but I suspect it wouldn’t happen more than once per game year. Just a guess.
