Unable to play due to error involving finding a race(solved)

This happened when i removed a custom race i made(had nothing special)

this error message pops up whenever i load the game

“Failed to find race:… \src\SIM_Race.cpp128”

i am running windows 7, this might be part of the problem.
Any solutions?

Sadly the solution is to delete the config.txt file, then it restores defaults.

yes, when you delete a race, make sure you change the line (in config.txt) that says “race = death race” (name of race) change that to something like “race = federation”

Or just select a different race before you delete the currently selected one.
