Ok, I’ve installed GSB using Impulse, but whenever I try to run it I get an error titled Failed to CreateWindow with the text “The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.”
I was running the game on this same machine earlier on Windows XP SP3 just fine, now with Windows 7 64 bit I can’t. Any insights?
Hi the game was developed on windows 7 64 bit, so thats not it. It sounds more like a problem with impulse than the game, presuming it doesn’t launch at all. It also sounds quite fundamental. Have you done a virus scan, just to check?
I run Vista 64-bit, and the demo works fine, the game worked fine for two days, then all I got was this error.
Reboots and reinstalls do not help. Any Ideas?

That looks like its running fine, (the intersect code fails now and then, harmlessly). It sounds like something else on your system is taking GSB with it., or thats the wrong log, because that shows the game shutting down as instructed. The logs get rebuilt every run.
the filename, directory name or label syntax is incorrect.
and windows says that the game has stopped working. I have not added any software in the past month or so, and the demo still works. The other debug file is this
That sounds like the working directory for the game is not being set correctly, so it cannot find any of it’s files. Is this being launched from a shortcut? where did you buy the game, and where did you install it? Is this running as a limietd user or as the computers administrator?
I got the game from the positech site, downloaded to the recommended directory. I am the administrator for this computer, and the error comes up no matter how many times I re-download or re install. I have tried launching both from the shortcut and the game file itself. However, my demo still works
Hi, so on the exact same machine, the demo runs fine but the full game does not? if you try one after the other?
There is something weird about the file permissions or other settings on your machine in that case.
If you grab the full versions exe and stick it in the demo folder, does that run ok?
