I downloaded the game during alpha and received an update notification when I started it up the other day. I know the alpha is more than a few updates along from when I last played, but the link to the game update seems broken and I cant seem to find another way. Help?

No change. I can still get the gane up and running, but there are no playable nations aside from the USA and UK.

You downloaded the latest version? v1.34? Where do you download from? Humble Bundle? You still have the original e-mail id? If it’s a humble bundle issue, you should contact their tech support, alternatively, if it’s a positech issue, you should contact their tech support.

So no, thats the issue. the game is stuck on v 1.08. I downloaded it straight from positech games

This must be a positech issue, it would be best to contact tech support and see how they can help you get the latest version.
