Buenas, mi nombre es Javier Pardo y me ofrezco para hacer la traducción. Soy traductor de español-inglés y creo que podría serles de utilidad para hacer la localización del juego.
No sé muy bien cómo es el trasfondo de código —qué se puede tocar y qué no—, pero me interesa la propuesta de melsoft. Si consiguen la forma de extraer los textos, con todo gusto los traduciría.

Hi, my name is Javier Pardo and I volunteer for the translation. I’m a Spanish-English translator, and I believe I could be of use for the game’s localization to Spanish.
I don’t know much about the game’s coding or programming, but I’m interested in melsoft’s proposal. If you don’t mind telling me how to extract the texts, I would gladly do it.

Muy buenas, estoy muy interesado en la traducción al castellano, de hecho si me dieran la opción de elegir idioma, pagaría el juego sin ningún tipo de problemas. No sé como vais con este asunto, pero si necesitáis algo aquí me tenéis. Tengo la esperanza de poder jugar a este juego en español porque en inglés con tanto texto es imposible. Por favor id informando si no hay inconveniente. MIL GRACIAS.

Dragouf, I just applied to join the Spanish translation team (I’m just ringing a bell here in the forums). 
[size=150]EN:[/size] Don’t be a crybaby, it’s not “too much” for one person. In fact, I’ve translated the in-game texts all by myself this morning. Maybe one day I’ll translate the policies and stuff… Whatever, I’m done for today.
I’m going to upload the strings.ini file and, then, I’ll post a link here.

P.S.- No accents or ñ’s yet. We’re gonna need another font, cause the one provided by Democracy 3 does not work with spanish characters. Testing, appreciated, by the way.

Thanks for the info, was that test recent or not? I read that someone in the French team posted about the special characters incompatibility, however, I can’t verify this because my antivirus found Dragouf’s programme to be unsafe and I would rather not turn my antivirus off. Or should we just translate normally and assume a new font will be provided for Spanish?
EN: I mean, YOU should test the translation and tell me if something is wrong. I’ve found some minor translation errors by myself. Tomorrow I’ll post a better version. I still don’t know how to modify text fonts, so, no accents will be added, at least, in the near future.
ES: Quiero decir que VOSOTROS deberíais probarlo y decirme si algo está mal. He encontrado algunos pequeños errores de traducción por mi cuenta. Mañana postearé una mejor versión. Todavía no sé cómo modificar fuentes de textos, así que no voy a añadir acentos, al menos, en un futuro proximo.

On a different topic, who is the group’s reviewer? Is the reviewer more busy with translations (which would be a good reason for him not to be reviewing) or is the reviewer missing in absence? We have 1420 translations pending approval…

says Spanish translation 98% done.

Issues about Spanish / español:
Except additional characters and a new font**1
there are two types of Spanish:
español/castellano and español/catalán.
We are talking about these Spanish characters:
á = Alt + 0225
é = Alt + 0233
í = Alt + 0237
ó = Alt + 0243
ú = Alt + 0250
ñ = Alt + 0241
ü = Alt + 0252
¡ = Alt + 0161
¿ = Alt + 0191 and Á, É, Í, Ñ, Ó
Keep ALT key pressed, then type four-digit number on Numeric Keypad (Num Lock off!).
For Windows PCs, works in Notepad etc. ( MAC/iOS or Linux use a different code. )
Buenas tardes… Hace poco descubrí Democracy 3 y estoy mejorando la traducción al español que encontré. Conseguí agregar los acentos y la ñ adaptando la tipografía.
También basado en el mod de Argentina de joaco335 distribuí los archivos en la estructura de carpetas del juego para que quede más integrado.
Ahora estoy terminando de agregar acentos y eñes y simplificando los textos para que sean más cortos y queden mejor visualmente.
Si a alguien le interesa que les pase la tipografía, los archivos (no sé como funciona esto a nivel legal), me avisan.
