Not sure if I am missing something here, but during a battle I pressed Esc and was taken to the Statistics menu where my only option was to return to the main menu. I assumed that this would take me to an interim menu where I would have the option of returning to battle or leaving. It might make sense to add a “Do you really want to do this” box at this point.

I was in the middle of a battle and wanted to change the volume, so I tried pressing escape, hoping i’d get into the options menu somehow but yeah… didn’t quite work out that way.
I third this! It’s been mentioned a few times now. It’d be good to call up a pause menu (continue/return to deployment/options/quit to main menu/exit) instead.
I’m going to try to get this done today. It is a bit of a horrid oversight.

I’ve just posted in the main forum about this, but a similar confirmation screen on the deployment screen when you click off of it would be great
