conveyor three way split

I’m probably doing something wrong, but for the life of me I can’t get one output to send to three inputs - or three outputs to funnel into one input. After a lot of fussing around, the conveyor system LOOKS like it should work, but it doesn’t. Any hints?

Make sure you arrows on the side, the black and yellow line are pointing the right direction.
