In my mod i use the tractor beam graphics as power conduits . . so in this case the order reactors are feeding energy into the Central Hull - To finish it off you have a huge turret in between where the energy beams meet.

Pure awesomeness! i have been thinking too about how to add “effects” to ships and i have one idea. how about making a engine effect shaped like tubes or something, to make the effect of fuel pipes. they light up when the ship moves!

have anyone tried this before?

I use it one my Seige Dreadnaut and a few weapon Platforms

This is what i was thinking for this ship
The large turret (aka MOAT) is from the Union mod which Cen2050 and I are working on
(it dosen’t quite match this ship - but it demonstrates what i was thinkin)

As you can see the tractor beams make very nice power conduits
In regards to your large turrets, its a good start, but i would remove the beam weapons that are on the back

okay. so then you wont mind if i would “borrow” turrets from union and turn them to fit my evil plans?

The mod has yet to be released - Its up to version 0.8 at the moment.
While i did created the turret graphics, i made them for Cen2050 for his Union Mod - So you would have to ask him for permission.

If you want i can create a custom turret for this ship ?

::Edit:: Just added in the reactor glows and have created its own large turret

should i remove the two big rebel hardpoints at the rear or keep em?

One option is the Double Barrel Cannon.
There is a drawback to this weapon as you need a custom Bullet to complete the effect.

Whereas with beam weapon we can specify which graphics to use
