This is something that actually happened in Canada: Pride and BLM got into a row over whether or not gay cops should be allowed at pride rallies.
This happened at around the time Marvel’s “Civil War” was in theaters, and conservative memesters had a field day with “liberal civil war”.
The player would have 3 options: Support one side to slightly please them at the cost of outraging the other side. Both sides think they’re owed support so they don’t see being supported as anything special, but see it as a betrayal to be sided against. The 3rd option is to be unavailable for comment which hits the “strong leader” rating. No harm done if your strong leader rating is already at -50.
