I’ve just come across this game on YouTube and as a SciFi games fan it looks very intriguing. I’ve spent quite a while looking on reviews and the forum but can’t find a definitive answer to my main question:
Does GSB run on Windows 7 64bit?
My setup is:
W7 Home Premium 64bit + SP1
Intel Core i5 750 CPU - 2.67 GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Radion HD 5750 Graphics card
ATI HD Audio Device with 7.1 surround sound

While I can only vouch for GSB on the low end systems.
As a suggestion, one way to find out if GSB will run on your system is to try it out:

If possible, could you provide a bit more info on your setup ?
(it could prove useful for other people that might be experiencing trouble on a Win 7 64Bit machine)

I really don’t have a clue what it all means except that I don’t have to worry about new games for the next 4 months.
And GSB runs even with oversized battles.

Thanks for the quick response.
I try to keep my PC “clean” and so don’t test whether things will run by installing them anymore. Your replies are encouraging enough to give the demo a try though.
I like to use smilies and have had a couple of attempts to turn them on in the Control Panel - they are shown as on in the CP but shown as off when I post - help would be appreaciated!

lol, im my computer it doesn’t work, windows 7 64bits too…
Some one knows if had to be done something to it works?
CPU and GPU are extremely old but this game should run fine. It runs on my systems (I have two), the more recent one being:
CPU: Intel i5 3570k 3.4ghz
Board: ASRock Z77 Extreme6
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32.0gb (4x8gb) 1600mhz
GPU: MSI Twin Frozr HD Radeon 7950
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
The other one is something like an AMD Phenom x4 3.00ghz, radeon 6770, 4gb of ram (3.25 usable), 32bit windows 7 ultimate and it runs fine on that as well.
Win 7 64 bit is all I have run it on two different computers no major issues. Occasional ( 1 per few hours) bug usually the wireless hiccuping.

I play Evochron Mercenary (created by StarWraith), but GSB is so very different that it is very tempting (time-wise - the cost is very reasonable!)
Next step get sorted and buy it
ps - how can I turn smilies option ON?
