Shipart for skilled modders

Yeah the turrets looks great and the ships look awesome, the capital ship is amazing -.-. But… hmm any reason the capital turrets are red and not green or blue? i say this cuz, even if the turrets on red look great, i dont see any red detail on the blue ships so maybe the capital turrets should be blue? or instead of that, let the red detail on the turret and make the contour blueish?? well, i dunno, its just a personal taste, they look great anyways. :wink:

Well the turrets are something I was working for in that single weapons thread and I thought I’d show it off some more. These pictures are mostly for the Ships, I may need to work on more things for theses ships I think they are coming along well right now. But I have no clue as to how many modules I need for them so right now I have the following. Fighter has 1 weapon 3 hardpoints size 12, the Bomber has 2 weapons and 4 hardpoints, at size 18. The Frigate is 4 and 4 and 175 size, the troop ship is um 5 and 6 size 200. the cruiser is 6 and 7 with a size 275, and the capital is 8 and 12 with size 400. I may change them a little more as I go along, and develop the weapons for the ships. I think i will attempt to make pictures of homeworld turrets unless someone would love to help me with that.

I need to find good hull bonus as they are not real good right now. I have been thinking of giving them 10% armor, 50% hull as with a speed and 100% hull boost to the bomber. I think that I’ll have a rapid fire module for the frigates to take place of the flak turrets. And also make plasma launchers for the cruiser and bomber, and triple turret or doubles for the capital cruiser. If anyone has the will to help with making some homeworld-like turrets for me I would REALLY love that, and would make my job a little easier.

I can make some turrets Lonestar. What size should they be?

um not sure, the in-game ones are at 128 by 128, So I was thinking something along those lines. And that would be GREAT man, help me out a ton. Are you also liking what I have been able to do with the ships so far?

Yes, I like it a lot. Seeing them ingame is great in itself, can’t wait to see some screens and vids of them mid-battle. You’re working fast too. GJ Lonestar

Thanks, I have quite a lot of time that I can put into this right now and I am doing all I can. I have really learned a lot in the short time I have bee modding here. But I also have modding experience in other games also. But by far GSB is the easiest to mod so far, but also has presented a lot of challenges too.

Done. I’m not really familiar with the technical and practical requirements of making turrets for GSB so let’s call it the alpha version. Here’s a preview (the individual .png s are bigger of course) and a download link. Let me know if these will work and what changes might be needed Lonestar.

Lol nice, this is not related but it kinda is. I went and remade the missile texture and here it is.

This is the Maverick cluster missile system that fires off 6 missiles at one using the live submission trick.
It is based off the AGM-45 Shrike.

Awesome missles. They remind me of the ones which were used to destroy capital ships in Starlancer (great game too)

Oh wait that is the Destroyers anti-fighter weapon. Er sorry i forgot that was in there. It might not be there in the Angels Fall First release as it is a part of another mod.

And here it is one week later, and here is my first download link of it. Think of this as an alpha release. I will add more weapons as I finish them. As with maybe some more ships.

Tested, great work with the ships and turrets, but the slots placement need more work (the slots appear all of em missplaced in the design screen, well almost in the capital ship that is the ship i tested). But may i suposse this is just an alpha release and u didnt even placed the slots in right place??.

Yes this is an alpha release, I have one more ship that is in the shipyard and it will soon enter its shakedown cruise stage. (like all the current ships) Once there shakedown cruise are finished and there hardpoints refined and completed they will be a lot better. ALL turret placements was done via the in-game editor and thus bound to be out of place. As with some of the ships missing explosions and other such effects. Mostly due to incomplete designs due to the needed shakedown cruise. I Will refine and get these ships in there zone hopefully within the next two releases Unless i can get the shipyards, stations and transports from Kalth.

Shipyard will become full blown fighter carriers.
The station will become an assault platform, think Deathstar with tons of weapons BUT very very very very very very very very slow speed, ZERO shield high armor. But I need to find the right place to put this armor as if I put over 5000 absorb on the armor it becomes invincible until a lot of lucky hits happen. I have some interesting ideas for the full ship line that was posted.

Well, maybe u should stop using the in-game editor, since i realized it doesnt work fine in your case (sadly). I mean, it is not a pixel displacement, the slots appear almost half of the ship missplaced down, this is caused by your version of the in-game editor? anyways, yea some things are missing, but for 1 week of work is really great. Im forward to test your next release ._.

I have never had trouble with it before. But maybe now it is screwed up, I’ll look into it some more and see what i can make of it.

And now an update of a escort class frigate that was attacked during its shakedown cruise. It fought bravely but all contact was lost with it. All shakedown cruises will now have more than a single ship now.
