Those are impossible to get currently.
Also four private industries (Rail, Water, Telcoms, Energy) canā€™t rise above 75% - nothing pushes them up hard enough.

I removed my achievements as a test.
Got Subsidy Sam just by starting USA and playing for turn.
Got Successful Liar just by switching to Britain and playing for turn.

I think getting current value of all situations and simulations on each turn also would help you to balance stuff.

Electioneering stuff is capped at 50%
Also compassionate bug with Right to Die

Canā€™t get Academic Paradise to trigger despite all conditions being met.

I am aware that some of these indeed need balancing. Its on my immediate todo list. Thanks for pointing out those with clear difficulties.

It seems like ā€œ!ā€ condition is broken for situations.

Really? thats serious. Maybe some change has nerfed it since we checked them. I shall do some checking tommorow before the next build. I think I also found a bug where the notification to steam that an achievement was triggered may have been delayed, so that should be more immediate now too. (that was a steamworks thing, our internal code has triggered correctly).

Yeah, otherwise I would have Academic Paradise already in game too.

By the way to get education to 0 you need to keep state schools enabled at lowest setting (so education lowering situations can happen), lax labor laws for teacher strike situation, and absolutely nuke all policies related to education.
Also private education needs to be banned.
So Ignorance is Bliss is achievable after all.

Festival Of Firearms requires Armed Police not Alcohol Consumption above 80%.
Armed Police reduces Armed Robbery too strongly to get Festival of Firearms achievement.
Maybe reduce Armed Police requirement to 20%?
I crashed Equality.

If you reduce equality enough to get into the class warfare situation you can get it.

Violent crime is maxed out, also guns are unrestricted. Class Warfare doesnā€™t increase armed robbery.
So armed robbery will be crushed hard by required amount of armed police.
Maybe it was achievable before stuff was rebalanced.

Anything Goes Gambling requirement is upside down (<10):
100% is unrestricted, so it should be >90%.

Praise the Lord canā€™t be triggered for some reasonā€¦
Maybe there is typo somewhere.
Game should report if there is typo.

There are the current achievements that are rarely (if at all) triggering for people:

  • academic paradise
  • living in future
  • coalitions
  • fooddrugsalcohol
  • apocalypsenow
  • festivaloffirearms
  • nosaladleftbehind
  • startyourengines
  • siliconparadise
  • successfulliar
  • strongarmofthelaw
  • healthyliving
  • gravediggingboom

Looking into balancing them nowā€¦

Lets check common denominators.
So this is my educated guess after doing experiments.

academic paradise - Requires situations to be inactive.
living in future - Requires high Internet Speed simulation value, which is impossible to reach.
coalitions - Requires very finely tuned popularity level for long time.
fooddrugsalcohol - Requires prior planning like not picking alcohol/tobacco reducing dillema options.
apocalypsenow - Requires Cyclones situation, currently absolutely impossible to obtain (average temperature permanently stays at low level).
festivaloffirearms - Armed Robbery is reduced too strongly by Armed Police at required level.
nosaladleftbehind - Requires situations to be inactive.
startyourengines - Requires situations to be inactive.
siliconparadise - Requires high Internet Speed simulation value, which is impossible to reach.
successfulliar - Requires prior planning - like purposefully choosing and not meeting pledges.
strongarmofthelaw - Requires situations to be inactive.
healthyliving - Requires situations to be inactive.
gravediggingboom - Armed Police reduces required situations too strongly.

Achievements, that I didnā€™t get while experimenting:
Coalition Kid ^
Living in the Future ^
Academic Paradise ^
Apocalypse Now ^
Festival of Firearms ^
No Salad Left Behind ^
Start Your Engines ^
Silicon Paradise ^
Strong Arm of the Law ^
Healthy Living ^
Gravedigging Boom ^
Rural Tranquillity - requires Happiness not Membership above 75%.
Bulletproof Politics - this one is simple: I play without assassinations
Praise The Lord - I got it now this time.
Margin of Error - I guess I need finetuned gameplay.

Definitely something fishy going on with Academic Paradise because I for sure had those requirements already in multiple playthroughs.

Living in the Future: Internet Speed is unsatisfiable.

I never managed getting into a coalition at all, so I estimate that Coalition Kid is probably one of the hardest achievements in the game right now.

Does Apocalypse Now only work with certain countries given that cyclones are a requirement?

Iā€™m not entirely sure but I feel like I also should already have No Salad Left Behind based on these stats. I donā€™t think Could do any more for healthier, more plant-based eating. Have to double-check what the heck Iā€™m missing of those requirements but I half suspect itā€™s impossible.

Silicon Paradise Iā€™d probably not have due to Automation Tax but also due to an unreachably high Internet Speed.

Successful Liar I think is fine. Itā€™s just something people donā€™t really go for unless they specifically target that achievement, probably.

Possibly same for Strong Arm of the Law.

Healthy Living is another one Iā€™m pretty sure I already ought to have.

Grave Digging Boom probably is another one thatā€™s fine but people just donā€™t really go for it.

Haā€¦ was composing this while you repliedā€¦

Okā€¦ five of these are bugged, because although the ! operator DOES work, it only works on policiesā€¦ it will soon work on situations too. That explains these ones:

  • academic paradise
  • nosaladleftbehind
  • startyourengines
  • strongarmofthelaw
  • healthyliving

Thoughts on the others:

living in future - This seems doable. is mars just too expensive?

coalitions - problem here is deeper. Coalitions just do not happen often enough. I may need to engineer this deliberately

fooddrugsalcohol - possible, but a bit tough. reducing tobacco requirement to 60% instead of 65%. and legal drugs down to 50%.

apocalypsenow - ok yikes. Looks like cyclones just is not triggering, so impossibleā€¦needs looking into

festivaloffirearms - may make sense to remove armed robbery from thisā€¦?

siliconparadise - getting internet speed up is hard. maybe a private space industry should improve this, like the low-earth orbit satellites becoming possible for rural areasā€¦ Also this is BUGGED! Because its asking for the value of a situation when it really should check that situation is just not activeā€¦ will fix.

successfulliar - maybe reduce to 1 pledge.

gravediggingboom - may make sense to remove armed police from thisā€¦?

Mars is cheap.
Living in future just like silicon paradise needs fast internet.

fooddrugsalcohol requires purposefully not picking dilemma options, that permanently lower alcohol and tobacco consumption.
So instead of drug consumption lower alcohol consumption.

festivaloffirearms, gravediggingboom would benefit from lack of armed police requirement. Latter one could require lax handgun laws.

Cyclones arenā€™t triggering because average temperature is unable to go high.

I suppose any space program should improve this because you have an easier time bringing satellites into the orbit which, among other things, will be used for (satellite) internet. - They could also reduce cost on various other technologies such as, Iunno, national broadcaster maybe? And certainly Satellite Road Pricing (I think that may already be a thing?)

Although I think the most tech stuff there happens on the ground rather than in orbit. Better, faster glass fiber or wireless networks. I think you simply either need to boost current policiesā€™ effects or add new policies that help here / give more policies an effect on this.

Honestly I feel like these things donā€™t need to be changed. Maybe it makes sense, Iunno. But in principle itā€™s fine to have some harder achievements, you know?

This. Average Temperature is currently just busted, as has been pointed in many a thread

gravediggingboom currently is unobtainable.

By the way how to get ā€œMargin of errorā€ achievement?
It seems like I should play without dilemmas, apathy and opposition lol.

Itā€™s also relatively tough to get I feel because usually, if you win the first election, by the next one youā€™ll already be too popular for this (or already on your way out)

Basically any achievement that requires you to do mid-well is gonna be kinda hard.

I know requirement, I meant how to stay barely electable

Just updating this thread to say that tomorrowā€™s update (.132) will include a lot of rebalancing of the achievements system
